Individual support for long-term patterns and personality-related issues.

Trang Duong, Msc in Psychology
About me

Hi there, I am Trang Duong, a psychologist trained in both the Netherlands and Vietnam. I provides psychological support for a range of complexities, including mood-related difficulties, long-standing personality patterns, developmental trauma, and interpersonal or relationship challenges. My practice is dedicated to individuals who seek to explore the deeper layers of their mind through a systematic, evidence-based lens, while remaining grounded in existential inquiry.

Before relocating to Utrecht, I ran a successful private practice in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City for three years, working with local residents and international professionals from over 15 different countries.

In addition to my private practice, I serve as a clinical provider for several global mental health organizations, specializing in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and crisis intervention:

  • Intellect (Singapore): Clinical provider since 2023.

  • Workplace Options: Clinical provider since 2025.

  • Mental Health Support Solutions (Germany) since 2023: Providing tele-health support for Vietnamese seafarers in high-pressure environments.

I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology from the University of Twente (The Netherlands), Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Psychotherapy track) and Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and Literature from University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University).

I am a Full Member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST).

Publications: Translator: Existential Psychotherapy by Irvin D. Yalom (Vietnamese Edition, 2025).

Modalities

My therapeutic approach, encompassing Schema Therapy, CBT, ACT, and DBT, is fundamentally grounded in an existential viewpoint, assists clients in constructing personal significance even amidst suffering; promotes authentic living aligned with individual values; and facilitates the confrontation of existential concerns such as death, isolation, freedom, and meaninglessness:

  • Schema Therapy: To uncover the origins of deeply ingrained patterns and heal developmental trauma.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To foster psychological flexibility and value-based living.

  • CBT & DBT: To provide the structural tools for emotional and cognitive regulation.

  • Interpersonal & Relationship Dynamics: Resolving persistent difficulties in how we relate to others.
